At Leon Paul we know that having the right weapon set up to your specifications can make the difference between winning and losing whether you are an Olympian or a beginner. All of our weapons are hand assembled at our own factory in London by one of a team of expert armourers. We offer more options for creating your own electric epee than ANY other company on the internet; in fact there are more than 4800 possible combinations meaning you can get EXACTLY the weapon that is best for your style of fencing. All weapons are tested for compliance with international regulations when they are assembled so they arrive ready to use straight out of the box.

LP - Standard Epee Blade Size

The Lightest most durable non FIE epee blade in the world. A unique patented design allows us to cold forge these blades greatly reducing defects in the steel and giving the greatest lifespan of any non FIE blade. In the old method of forging a epee blade the heating process adds stresses and fractures this is avoided in our method. The V formed Epee blade completes on average 4500 cycles on our testing machine meaning that it is a safe blade and great value for money.

Lightweight Carbon Fibre Handle

This hi tech French handle for Foil and Epee, is designed to fit in with the rest of our lightweight range. It has a cross-linked cellular body, strengthened with Carbon fibre laminate. This handle is suitable for both right and left handed fencers. Includes nut Ref: 93

Its unique one piece design means it needs no pommel and it fits on a standard crosse tang reducing weight still further. The handle has a 20mm x 20mm cross section giving an extremely positive grip and is bound in a replicable absorbent non slip tape. These handles are designed for maximum reach and are the longest they can be made according to FIE rules. They have been FIE certified and legal for use in ALL competitions. Used in conjunction with the rest of our lightweight range many fencers find that they can easily pommel without loosing any control giving them an incredible 4 inch reach advantage. You will need spanner ref: TS12 to help fit this handle and a lightweight nut Ref: 93. both can be order with the handle from the dropdowns above.

This is an injection moulded plastic crosse handle designed to fit on blades with a crosse (short) tang. The handle is both lightweight and virtually indestructible making it ideal for all levels of fencing.

Leather Epee Handle

These traditional French grips have a curved shape to follow the contours of the hand for a perfect fit. The leather is bonded to the core with tough flexible resin glue that will last for years. The surface of the grip is treated with a "tackifying" solution which makes it extremely grippy and the absorbent surface of the leather means that it retains its grip even when damp from perspiration. The handle is finished with a friction fit aluminium feral at each and that provides a solid surface for mounting. These handles are for use with a long tang blade and a pommel.

Tungsten Sintered Pommel For French Grips | 6mm 200g

For fencers who use a French grip in order to gain extra reach ("pommeling" or "posting") this sintered Tungsten pommel provides the ultimate counterbalance to the mass of your blade. Tungsten is almost twice as dense as lead (71% heavier than lead) but as hard as steel! The pommel is made of two parts, the front threaded part is made from lightweight but durable Aluminium and the second half is made from sintered Tungsten. This combination puts 85% of the mass of the pommel in it's last half. The net result of this is that it moves the point of balance of the weapon as far back as possible without adding excessive weight.

This is the ultimate pommel for fencers who are looking for extra reach whilst maintaining tight control!

Lightweight Electric Epee Guard

Leon Paul was the first company to use aircraft grade aluminium alloy to produce lightweight guards. Our range of guards across all 3 weapons is renowned for being the most long lasting and safe on the market. The special aluminium means they can be thinner than a standard guard without compromising on strength they are therefore 20% lighter than our standard guards. We recommended the lightweight Epee inside guard socket ref: E26LW to be used in conjunction with this product.

Unlike other lightweight guards ours are heat tempered after forming to give them a hard yet springy quality that gives them their increased durability. After testing guard designs made from a single piece of material we have found that after heavy use the guard starts to wear away where it is in contact with the tang of the blade. All our guards are reinforced at the tang with a thin stainless steel reinforcement. Our lightweight guards have copper rivets to distinguish them from our normal range.

This pad is made from a waterproof PVC layer over a foam core. Unlike the fibre pads sold by other manufacturers it will not fray, leak colour or absorb sweat. It is suitable for both electric and non-electric weapons.

We have taken a step back from the traditional design of a pad and come up with a brand new concept with several distinct advantages over a standard pad:
- Clear design means you can see immediately if any damage has occurred to the wire without moving the pad
- When mounting a weapon it is far easier to check that the wire is running through the notch in the handle ensuring you don't trap the wires and cause shorting.
- The PVC used is durable, waterproof and will not split around the edges
- You can write your name on the inner surface of the guard and it will never rub off
- At international level all weapons have to be checked to ensure they have not been modified. A clear pad makes it far easier and quicker for armourers to carry out the weapons check.
