Tungsten is almost twice as dense as lead (71% heavier than lead) but as hard as steel! The pommel is made of two parts, the front threaded part is made from lightweight but durable Aluminium and the second half is made from sintered Tungsten. This combination puts 85% of the mass of the pommel in it's last half. The net result of this is that it moves the point of balance of the weapon as far back as possible without adding excessive weight.
