These new foil points have been fitted to all our maraging blades since March. This design is made from hardened Stainless Steel. The point has a longer precision cut bearing surface and therefore a smother action. The use of a longer bearing surface means there is less opportunity for lateral movement of the point within the base leading to less wear and significantly longer life span. The grub screws and springs are the same design however the points and bases are not interchangeable with the old design. We are recommending that when it comes time to rewire your maraging weapons you switch to the new design because we will only be carrying spares for the old design for a limited period.
Increaced wall thickness means our point base is 2.75 times stronger than popular German points. A fact demonstrated by the fact that some German manufacturers sell tools specifically for straightening deformed point bases!
A replacement spring is the cheapest and easiest way of bringing a point back to life. Worn springs are the most common cause of weapons failing the pressure test and are simple to change.
Replacement grub screws that are compatible with all our Foil and Epee points. These latest screws are hardened to dramatically increase their life span.
Replacement wire with brass contact and insulating cup. If you are re-wiring a blade then out TA2 foil point wire applicator (in tools and test equipment) is useful for ensuring the contact is in the correct place within the point base before glue is applied to the wire.
