Leon Paul's Epée is manufactured in a unique way to form the worlds lightest Epée blade. The blade is made from a special type of rolled steel which is hand made in small batches for us in Sheffield. The sheet steel is folded up on itself at an elevated temperature. In a normal blade the heating and forging process can introduce stresses and fractures and this is avoided in our method. The lightness of this blade does not mean that we have compromised on safety or durability. In extensive independent testing the Leon Paul blade has been shown to have 2.49 times less stress in the break area than traditional shaped blades. This is why on average it will last up to 5 times longer than other blades. It is wired and fitted with a point.

Kolobkov Pro maraging Electric FIE épée blade Ref: E10KOL

Designed by 4 times World Champion and 6 times Olympic Medallist Pavel Kolobkov this is the ultimate Epee blade. It is a combination of the best features of the Leon Paul design V blades and the more traditional heavier blades.
The Blade combines the light weight and long lifespan of the Leon Paul V blade with the precise point control and balance of a BF. The balance point has in fact been moved 1cm back towards the hand from that of a BF blade and it weighs 10g (1/4oz) less. To increase the blades durability the top surface has been peened (blasted with microscopic glass beads) to remove surface defects. The blades are finishes in a deep gold colour and have the name of their designer and namesake; the legendary Kolobkov Laser etched onto the forte.
Please note that these blades are only available with short tang for a pistol/visconti grip. Check out an independent review
