All four ranges of Leon Paul jacket Club, Competition, Atlanta and Sydney are cut to the same sizing system. The part stretch jackets (Club and Atlanta) are cut with a little extra room than the full stretch jackets (Competition and Sydney) which are cut to give a close fit. Leon Paul mens clothing is made in increments of 2 inches starting at 34" and going up to 48" but we they can make sizes up to 52" to order.
The most important measurement is your chest measurement in Inches. To check your chest size measure around the widest part of your chest in inches when you have a full breath of air (see diagram on the left). Choose a jacket size that is just larger than your chest size so if your chest measures 41" then choose a 42" jacket. If your chest size is very close to a size (eg 41¾") or is on one of the sizes (eg 42") and you prefer not to have a close fit then you will be best off with one size larger, in this case a 44".

Below are two size charts with more detailed measurements. You should only need to use these if you feel that you have an unusual build. The first has recommended maximum and minimum chest sizes and heights for each jacket, the second contains the actual measurements of our jackets including back length, sleeve length, chest and waist.

The chart below shows the range of sizes that are recommended for each of our jackets.

All four ranges of Leon Paul knickers Club, Competition, Atlanta and Sydney are cut to the same sizing system. The part stretch pants (Club and Atlanta) are cut with a little extra room than the full stretch pants (Competition and Sydney) which are cut to give a close fit. Leon Paul mens pants range from a size 30" to a size 40" in two inch increments. As with their Jackets, Leon Paul pants are sized in the standard American way. The measurement for mens pants is round the waist in inches. To measure your waist size you should measure the circumference of your waist at it's narrowest point (usually just above the hip as shown in the diagram on the left) in inches. Choose the size that is just larger than your waist size so if you measure 33" then choose a size 34". If your measurement is very close to a size (eg 33¾") or is on one of the sizes (eg 34 ") and you prefer not to have a close fit then you will be best off with one size larger, in this case a 36".

Under arm protectors / Plastrons

These come in small, medium, large and extra large. As they are fitted under the jacket, and therefore held in place by it, the fit is not as important as your outer layer. The chart below shows the range of chest sizes that each plastron size will fit.

Masks

Mask sizes are best measured using the vertical circumference around the head.

Size
Your measurement
Small=
less than 22.5" or 58cm
Medium =
22.5" - 25.5" or 58cm - 65cm
Large =
25.5" - 28" or 65cm - 72cm
X Large =
more than 28" or 72cm

Please be aware that this is a rough guide, individual heads vary considerably in size and shape. The best way to be sure is to try masks on at your club. If a Leon Paul mask is not available to try on then masks from other manufacturers can be used as a guide as they are very similar in size.

Gloves

To check your glove size measure your fencing hand at its widest point (just below knuckles) in inches (excluding the thumb), then add half an inch to the measurement to establish your glove size. For example if your hand measures 9 inches around its widest point (excluding the thumb). You would add half an inch to establish your glove size as 9½.
To assist our customers who are using metric measurements: one inch = 25.4 mm.
Some of our gloves are sized as X Small, Small, Medium, Large and X Large These equate to:

Shoes

All of our shoes are in standard American sizing. In general the Adidas fencing shoes are on the small side so most people find that it is best to order a half size larger than you would take in a regular running sneaker:
